Each business is a fictional TV record company:

• Hitower Records on "Hitz" (UPN, 1997)
  
• Platinum Records on "Platinum" (UPN, 2003)
  
• Throb Records on "Throb" (Syn, 1986)
  
• True Vinyl on "Love Monkey" (CBS, 2006)

You'll also notice that these shows were short-lived. Of the three recent network shows, "Hitz" had the longest run with nine eps! That's right, nine! ("Throb" was in syndication for two seasons. Oh, so many years ago.)

Recent history says we don't watch behind-the-scenes shows about record companies. Drama, sitcom, dramedy. Doesn't matter. Maybe this lineage should've been a warning to NBC about "30 Rock" and "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip."
