Did you happen to see the made-for, Going for Broke, on Lifetime a few years ago?  Didn't think so.  I didn't either.  But I'm not exactly in Lifetime's target demo.
Anywhoo.
The telefilm told the real-life story of a woman who became a compulsive gambler.  It was critically acclaimed.  It was heart-wrenching.  And a huge number of women are addicted to gambling.  
Sounds like the perfect recipe for a reality show.  Lifetime thinks so to.
Lifetime filed docs on October 4, 2006 to protect Going for Broke for a "reality-based television series."
