The Ep Name Cometh

Early next week (October 16) I plan on celebrating Eugene O'Neill's birthday by reading The Iceman Cometh. I chose The Iceman Cometh to celebrate the 60th anniversary of its first Broadway production (October 9, 1946).

It also turns out that TV writers also love this great play — nearly 100 ep titles pay homage to O'Neill's play. Here's a sample:
  • The Baby Cometh (''The Joey Bishop Show,'' 5/11/1963)
  • The Ice Cream Man Cometh (''Step by Step,'' 11/18/1994)
  • The Ice Queen Cometh (''Doogie Howser, M.D.,'' 9/20/1989)
  • The Iced Duck Cometh (''The Mighty Ducks'')
  • The Iceman Bricketh (''The Cosby Show,'' 10/31/1991)
  • The Iceman Goeth (''Coach,'' 11/13/1990)
  • The Iceman Taketh (''Early Edition,'' 10/16/1999)
  • The Icing Man Cometh (''Good Eats'')
  • IQ Cometh (''Sweet Valley High,'' 10/9/1995)
  • The Melty Man Cometh (''Coupling'')
  • The Piximon Cometh (''Digimon: Digital Monsters,'' 10/7/1999)
